a) Continuing Medical Education (CME)
On occasion of WORLD LIVER DAY 19th April 2024 celebrations, a hybrid CME programme was conducted on NAFLD MASLD = an overview in association with Association of Physicians of India (Delhi State Chapter) & Indian College of Physicians on 16th April 2024 at ILBS.

b) Walkathon

On April 20, 2024, a walkathon was organized in the Vasant Kunj area of New Delhi, commencing at 9:30 am. This event was held in observance of World Liver Day and aimed to raise awareness about liver health. The EMPATHY team, in collaboration with staff from the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), participated in the walkathon, carrying various slogans to promote awareness about hepatitis B, C, and fatty liver. The messages emphasized the importance of maintaining liver health through physical activities such as exercise and yoga, effective weight management, reducing consumption of junk food, and abstaining from tobacco and alcohol.

c) Public Lecture

On April 20, 2024, Dr. Shiv K Sarin presented an enlightening public lecture at ILBS in observance of World Liver Day, which was celebrated on April 19, 2024. Titled “How Do I Keep My Liver Healthy,” the talk underscored the liver’s vital functions and the crucial steps needed to maintain its health. Dr. Sarin delved into various liver-related conditions, including fatty liver and viral hepatitis, offering insights into their causes, transmission, symptoms, and effective treatments and prevention strategies. He also emphasized the important role of a balanced diet and regular physical activity in promoting liver health. Engaging with the audience, Dr. Sarin addressed their questions, debunked common myths, and provided clear, accurate information about liver health and diseases.
